Partner with us
We love being a part of the schools and projects in Africa and Asia, witnessing the transformation of individuals and a community. You too can enjoy the privilege.
There are several ways you can support the ongoing work of the charity by sponsoring children in Dominion Hope Academy in Gachie, Kenya, or choosing a project supporting displaced children on the Thai/Burma border.
Important: When donating, please use the drop down list if you would like your donation to support a specific project. Otherwise, select ‘Area of greatest need’.
Ways to Support
Regular class sponsorship - Kenya
General donations and Asia projects
Your donation (either one off or regular) will be used by Global Hope Connections to support all our projects. However, if there is a particular project you would like to support you can select from these options:
Project 1: Internet school – Burma
This virtual school is for students in yr 9,10,11 UK equivalent. The project allows them to access a virtual school to gain an American high school certificate. The young people are in Burma but had their education stopped and are at high risk. The qualification will help them plan for their future. The school is run by experienced teachers.
Project 2: Tutoring school – Thailand
Displaced children on the Thailand side of the border are generally permitted to legally stay if they are registered in a school. This tutor-based project allows (mostly teenagers) to attend a school run by an experienced teacher. As well as supporting the original project, we are seeking to sponsor further sites to replicate this model which will allow more displaced young people to continue with an education.
Project 3: Social activities – Thailand
A youth club and a swimming club on Saturdays providing opportunities for ongoing social, physical and emotional development for displaced Burmese children and teenagers living on the Thai border.
Project 4: Job training – Burma/Thai border
A Professor who previously trained teachers has set up a 3-month course training 18+ kids to learn how to repair mobile phones. There is a qualification at the end of the course. This then allows them to set up businesses and earn a living.
This age group are often forgotten as they had their education stopped. This is a practical solution to support young people in a business venture.
